Sessio for Zoom

Last updated: 30 October 2026

Sessio connects to your Zoom account to create a Zoom meeting for the online sessions you schedule and to keep its join link with the appointment. This page explains how to add the app, how to use it and how to remove it.

What the integration does

Sessio is an app for therapists: a schedule, session notes and client records. The Zoom integration has one job. When you schedule an online session, Sessio creates the Zoom meeting for you and keeps its join link on the appointment, so you do not have to create meetings in Zoom and paste links by hand.

With Zoom connected, Sessio:

  • creates a meeting in your Zoom account when you add a Zoom link to an appointment, or when you confirm a booking request from a client who chose Zoom;
  • saves the meeting’s join link on the appointment;
  • reads the email address of your Zoom account, to show you which account is connected.

Through the Zoom connection, Sessio does not read the content of your Zoom meetings, their recordings or their chat, and it does not use Zoom webhooks. Recording a session in Sessio is separate from this integration and does not use the Zoom connection. The same goes for the option in newer versions of Sessio to import recordings that you choose from the Zoom folder on your own computer.

What you need:

  • A Sessio account and the Sessio desktop app (download). The connection is finished in the desktop app.
  • A Zoom account you can sign in to. Sessio creates the meetings in the account you connect.
  • A web browser. You approve the connection in your browser, on Zoom’s own page.

Adding Sessio to Zoom

You add the app from inside Sessio. Use Connect Zoom in the app, not the Add button in the Zoom App Marketplace: the connection has to start from your Sessio account. If you started in the Marketplace, come back to Sessio and use Connect Zoom.

  1. Open Sessio and sign in.
  2. Open Settings, then Integrations.
  3. On the Zoom card, click Connect Zoom. Your browser opens Zoom’s authorization page.
  4. Sign in to Zoom if asked, review the permissions Zoom lists, and approve them.
  5. The browser shows “Zoom access granted”. Click Finish in Sessio. The button works for 10 minutes.
  6. If Sessio shows a “Connect…?” dialog with your Zoom email address, check that it is the Zoom account you meant and click Connect. If it is not your account, click Cancel: nothing is connected in Sessio, and you can remove Sessio from that Zoom account as described in “Removing Sessio from Zoom” below.

When it is done, Sessio shows “Connected to your account”, and the Zoom card shows your Zoom email address and a Disconnect button.

Using Zoom in Sessio

When you schedule a session

  1. Open Schedule and click Schedule to add an appointment, or open an existing one.
  2. Fill in the appointment. The meeting is set to Online by default.
  3. In the Meeting row, click the camera button (Add conference link) and choose Zoom. If Zoom is not connected yet, the Integrations settings open so you can connect it, and your draft is kept.
  4. Sessio creates a Zoom meeting for the session and adds its join link to the Meeting row. “Meeting link ready” appears under it.
  5. Click Create (or Save on an existing appointment).

The link is saved with the appointment. On the day, open the appointment in Schedule and click Start session, which starts a recording in Sessio and opens the meeting link; for an appointment on a later date, the same place has a Join call button. You can also copy the link and send it to your client.

The meeting is created in your Zoom account with the Zoom waiting room on. Its title is always the generic “Sessio session”: client names are never sent to Zoom. If you add a Zoom link and then discard the appointment without saving it, the meeting stays in your Zoom account; delete it there.

When a client books online

If you use Sessio’s booking page and Zoom is connected, the booking page offers Zoom as the platform. When you confirm the request in Sessio, Sessio creates the Zoom meeting, saves the join link on the new appointment and includes it in the confirmation email and calendar file your client receives. If the meeting cannot be created, the session is still confirmed and Sessio asks you to add the video link by hand.

Removing Sessio from Zoom

To remove the integration completely, disconnect it in Sessio first, then remove the app in Zoom.

First: disconnect in Sessio

  1. Open Settings, then Integrations.
  2. On the Zoom card, click Disconnect.

Disconnecting takes effect at once. Sessio asks Zoom to revoke its access and deletes the stored connection (the access and refresh tokens and your Zoom email address) from its servers. From then on Sessio does not create Zoom meetings for you.

Then: remove the app in Zoom

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Click Manage, then Added Apps.
  3. Find Sessio and click Remove.

This ends Zoom’s side of the connection. If you do it before disconnecting in Sessio, the Zoom card in Sessio keeps showing Zoom as connected until you click Disconnect.

What happens to your meetings and data

  • Zoom meetings that Sessio already created stay in your Zoom account. Sessio does not delete them when you disconnect, and their join links stay on your appointments, so links you already sent to clients keep pointing to those meetings.
  • Sessio keeps a record of the Zoom meetings it created (the join link and Zoom’s meeting ID, no tokens). Delete a meeting in Zoom if you no longer need it.
  • Deleting your Sessio account removes the Zoom connection and these records from Sessio. It does not remove the app in Zoom, so disconnect first, or remove the app in Zoom as described above.

Data and permissions

Sessio uses two Zoom permissions:

PermissionWhat Sessio uses it for
meeting:write:meetingCreate meetings in your Zoom account for your online sessions.
user:read:userRead the email address of your Zoom account, to show which account is connected.

What Sessio stores and sends:

  • Your Zoom email address and the access and refresh tokens Zoom gives Sessio. The tokens stay on Sessio’s servers, are never sent to the app, and are used only to act on your Zoom account on your behalf.
  • The join link and Zoom meeting ID of each meeting Sessio created.
  • To Zoom, Sessio sends only the generic title “Sessio session” and the basic details needed to create a meeting. No client name, note or recording goes to Zoom.

How Sessio handles data in general is described in the Privacy policy and the Terms of use.
