Counts how many kinds of hard experiences from your childhood are on the list of the ACE Study. The questions touch on abuse and neglect, so take them at your own pace.
The ACE questionnaire comes from the CDC-Kaiser Permanente Adverse Childhood Experiences Study. Ten yes-or-no questions cover three kinds of experience before age 18: abuse, neglect and household challenges such as violence, addiction, mental illness, divorce or prison. Each yes adds 1 point, for an ACE score from 0 to 10.
This is not a diagnosis
The ACE score counts past experiences and does not describe your health or your future. Many people with a high score live well, and support at any age makes a difference.
